Sorry for the break between posts, but it has been a busy week. Daddy went back to work on Monday, Grandma Judy left on Friday, Ripken and I got acquainted, and I tried out my swing. Here are some pics from the week.

1 week birthday!
I'm one week old this evening! Happy Birthday to me!
I had my first doctor's visit this morning. The doctor said I was the most advanced week old baby they had ever seen. (Yep!) I gained back all of the weight I lost and then some. I now weigh 6lbs 14oz and everything is great.
It was a glorious day here and I went for my first walk outside with mommy, daddy, grandma, Ripken.
Mommy, daddy and me want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful gifts that we have received. They are all great. Thanks again.

Home
The doctors said that since mommy and me were doing so good, we could go home. Everything and everyone at the hospital has been great, but there's no place like home.
Thanks Grandma Mary for the going home outfit. It is cold today so we had to break out the jacket too.
All loaded up.
Welcome home Hank!
Settling in with daddy.

Day 2
Had a great day today. Last night was "challenging" as daddy says. I had shots, blood drawn, pediatric visits, you name it. But today was great. Mommy says I'm eating great and I sleep great. Mommy is feeling great too and the doctors say we can go home on Monday.
I had my first visitors today! Uncles Jeff, Mikey, Rob, Brian and Aunts Stacey and Michelle stopped by to say hi. I wasn't in a great mood, and cried when anyone but mommy held me. But I had a good time nonetheless. (great vocabulary for a 2 day old)
Here are other pics from day two.
And I especially want to thank Grandma Judy for coming down on short notice to help mommy and daddy take care of me. Thanks Grandma.

My first day...
I had a very busy first day. Doctor's appointments, tests, shots, eating, pooping, sleeping...you name it. Mommy and I are doing great. She is up and around and feeling good. Daddy and I got to enjoy my first Yankee game today. So much, and yet only one day old.
And thanks to everyone that voted in my boy/girl guess. Boy ended up with 61% of the vote. I guess you were right.

I'M A BOY!!!
Hi everyone! I am Henry Jack Beldowicz. People call me Hank. I was born at 5:47pm, April 11, 2008. I weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and am 20 3/4 inches long. I've got a bunch of short blond hair. I was delivered via C-section and both me and mommy are doing great. Here are the first of what will be about a million pictures.
Not yet...
Mommy's body is apparently not ready to give me up just yet. We are working on our second batch of medication and if this doesn't work soon, mommy might have to consider other options.
The good news is that Grandma Judy got here a few hours ago. Stay tuned.

Still waiting...
Not much going on right now. Mommy is still on the meds to help with contractions. I guess we'll just wait and see.
Update 2:30am
It's 2:30am on April 11th and mommy is about to start the medicine that produces contractions. Everything to this point has been good. Mommy is feeling good and she and daddy got a few hours sleep. Now the fun begins. Not sure how long it will take from here, but mommy is hoping by late morning I have arrived.

I'm being induced!
I'm being induced! Mommy's blood pressure was high at our normal 38 week appointment and they sent us to the hospital for some monitoring. The doctor said that there was no reason to wait and that both me and mommy were fine, but mommy's blood pressure might be a concern for a number of reasons, so they decided to induce labor and get this process done.
We're in the hospital labor and delivery division and mommy has received a few drugs to get the process started. Best estimate is a birth tomorrow, April 11th, at some time.
Here are some pictures of mommy's room.
See you soon!!!
